Does it really work with just water?
For most everyday marks, yes – pen and crayon on walls, fingerprints on switchboards, scuffs, tile-groove grime and soap scum. The foam lifts the mark physically, so it does not need a chemical to do it. Old, baked-on kitchen grease is the exception: add one drop of dishwash to the wet sponge for that.
Will it take the paint off my wall?
On washable wall paint, rubbed gently, it lifts the mark and leaves the paint. On cheap matte distemper or old chalky paint, any wet rubbing can lift some colour – so test a small spot behind a door or a cupboard first, and use a light hand.
Will it scratch my surfaces?
It will not scratch tiles, steel sinks, plastic or painted walls when used gently with water. It can dull a glossy finish, the same way an eraser would. Keep it off car paint, polished or lacquered wood, glossy granite or marble, non-stick pans and screens.
Why does the sponge get smaller?
That is how it works. Like a pencil eraser, a little of the foam wears away as it lifts the mark. A small mark barely touches it; a whole wall of tile grooves uses more. That is why the pack has five, and why you should wipe gently instead of pressing hard.
How long does one sponge last?
It depends on the job. Used on small marks here and there, one sponge lasts a good while. Used on a full bathroom of tile grooves in one go, it wears down faster. Cutting it into smaller pieces for small jobs makes the pack go further.
Can I use it on vessels and plates?
Use it on the outside of steel vessels, the sink and the stove top. Do not use it on non-stick cookware, and we do not recommend it for the eating surface of plates and cups – your normal dish sponge is the right tool there.
Is it safe to keep in a house with children?
You clean with plain water, so there are no fumes and no chemical left on the surface. The sponge itself is not a toy – store it out of reach of small children, like any cleaning item.
Can I cut it?
Yes. Cut it with ordinary scissors into smaller pieces for switchboards, tap bases, window corners and shoe edges. Small pieces are easier to control and make the pack last longer.
